Regional Meetings

These meetings are in-person, one day dialogue meetings that focus on developing and implementing state best practice policies and investment models that address the multiple barriers to greater investment in industrial energy efficiency and combined heat and power (CHP). These dialogue meetings are hosted by DOE's Advanced Manufacturing Office in coordination with the State and Local Energy Efficiency Action Network (SEE Action) Industrial Energy Efficiency & CHP Working Group.

In support of the August 30, 2012 Executive Order – Accelerating Investment in Industrial Energy Efficiency, DOE is pleased that these meetings help meet the objectives outlined. The Order sets a goal of 40 gigawatts of new, cost-effective industrial CHP in the U.S. by 2020, it directs the agencies, including DOE, with convening stakeholders, through a series of public workshops, to develop and encourage the use of best practice State policies and investment models that address the multiple barriers to investment in industrial energy efficiency and CHP. Participants at these meetings will engage in a dialogue about the potential for increased industrial energy efficiency in the region, successful industrial and CHP policy approaches, innovative policy options, and opportunities to work together to achieve the many benefits of industrial energy efficiency and CHP.

Local Workshops

Rescheduled for a Later Date
PERC/Mid-Atlantic CHP TAP CHP Workshop for Higher Education Facilities

PERC, the Pennsylvania Environmental Resource Consortium, in cooperation with the Mid-Atlantic CHP Technical Assistance Partnership, is presenting a workshop on the exciting potential of Combined Heat & Power. We will assemble at the Navy Yard in Philadelphia and learn about the opportunities Combined Heat and Power can present for reducing energy consumption, cutting green house gas emissions and saving precious budgetary dollars.  After a brief intro to CHP, we will explore CHP applications for colleges along with a look at potential CHP design.  Speakers from a number of PERC schools will discuss their experiences with Combined Heat and Power, speaking to operational efficiency and results but also to the practical questions of how they got the project to happen.

This is a great event for physical plant/ facilities officers as well as campus sustainability directors and green team members--and any faculty or staff person with an interest in greening their campus's energy consumption.  Bringing faculty and staff with a variety of interests and responsibilities is strongly encouraged.
