CHP and Woody Biomass One-Day Workshop
The Business of Biomass: Pellets and Power

Pellets and Combined Heat and Power (CHP) are two growing opportunities for the bioenergy industry in the region. Pellets - from wood or other biomass - continue to grow in popularity for domestic use and export markets. CHP systems utilizing biomass remains one of the most cost effective and efficient uses of renewable biomass fuel.
The workshop will be held at the West Virginia University Erickson Alumni Center in Morgantown, West Virginia

Co-sponsored by the USDA-AFRI NEWBio bioenergy consortium and the US-DOE Mid Atlantic CHP Technical Assistance Partnership, and delivered by the West Virginia Extension Service and Penn State Extension.

This event is free of charge, but you must register in advance.

Rescheduled for a Later Date
PERC/Mid-Atlantic CHP TAP CHP Workshop for Higher Education Facilities

PERC, the Pennsylvania Environmental Resource Consortium, in cooperation with the Mid-Atlantic CHP Technical Assistance Partnership, is presenting a workshop on the exciting potential of Combined Heat & Power. We will assemble at the Navy Yard in Philadelphia and learn about the opportunities Combined Heat and Power can present for reducing energy consumption, cutting green house gas emissions and saving precious budgetary dollars.  After a brief intro to CHP, we will explore CHP applications for colleges along with a look at potential CHP design.  Speakers from a number of PERC schools will discuss their experiences with Combined Heat and Power, speaking to operational efficiency and results but also to the practical questions of how they got the project to happen.

This is a great event for physical plant/ facilities officers as well as campus sustainability directors and green team members--and any faculty or staff person with an interest in greening their campus's energy consumption.  Bringing faculty and staff with a variety of interests and responsibilities is strongly encouraged.
